ACE First-Time Attendee Mentoring
AHDI strongly encourages past attendees of our Annual Convention & Expo to volunteer their services mentoring a first-time attendee in Austin this year. AHDI will not, however, be coordinating mentoring partnerships. We are, instead, creating this group on our ACE365 website so that you can connect here on your own.
First-Time Attendees: If you would like a mentor (ie, someone to ask questions of prior to the convention and meet up with at the convention), please indicate your desire for a mentor by posting that request to the wall here.
Past Attendees: If you would like to mentor a first-time attendee, please watch the wall and reply accordingly. If you see that a first-timer has posted a request to the wall that has not yet been answered, feel free to respond on the wall to that individual with your willingnesss to serve and your contact information.
Some Guidelines:
Mentoring a first-timer means being available prior to the event (typically by email) to answer any questions the first-time attendee might have about the event and what to expect. It should also mean a willingness to meet up with your first-time mentee on site to make sure he/she does not navigate the event alone. A good first meeting is the Thursday night Welcome Reception in the exhibit hall. Make sure to coordinate ahead of time where you will meet up and how to identify each other at the event so that your first-timer does not feel left out.
Thank you for your willingness to serve! See you at ACE!
