ACE365

AHDI Annual Convention & Exposition (ACE)

Welcome first-timers to ACE365! Let me be the first returning member to begin an open discussion article on here. Let's all take a moment to introduce ourselves and get to know each other better! I'll start by letting you know a little about myself, where I am from, and a little career information about myself.

My name is obviously Matt LaMond. I am 24 years old and live in North-East Ohio. I am a very open and social butterfly at times. I like to help out whenever possible and usually go above and beyond if I'm able to. I've been working with authors and typists for over 3+ years now. I work for a company you may be familiar with called TranscriptionGear.Com. I currently work for them as a Marketing Professional & Product Expert. I have also managed to achieve the title Dictation Workflow Expert.  I also star in our product demonstration and informative videos! One of my many hats is also Social Media Coordinator. I created our company's Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, LinkedIn and Myspace pages and groups. I began this project back in the beginning of 2009 and have been maintaing and expanding them since. Our facebook & Twitter page have a combined following of over 7,000+ users. I am also Co-Chair of the AHDI Outreach Workgroup for News & Networking (OWNN). I have been constantly learning and expanding my knowledge in the Medical Transcription Industry & Social Networking for over 3+ years now. If you want to know more, just ask and I'll probably let you know! :)

Alright so enough about me now, I want to know more about you!

P.S. Can't wait to see all of you at ACE this year.

Hi, guys!  My name is Daysha Weller and I am a first-timer!  I am so excited to be able to be a part of ACE this year!  I currently work for Alpha Transcription as a QA/MT.  I am a member of the AHDI New Professionals Alliance and on the Steering Committee.  I am also Chair of the subgroup, an RMT Study Group Committee, where we are developing a study group for the RMT for AHDI members.  I was also a member of the AHDI Awards Committee this year.  I am a member of the Online Association of AHDI also, and have just begun to serve as the Social Media Specialist for the component!  So, Matt, any tips you can give me are greatly appreciated!

I live in Missouri, northwest corner, where all the flooding is happening right now.  I am married and have one son, Hayes, who is 4.  My family keeps me quite busy, as does my hobby, team roping!  I rope with my sister and dad, and we travel through Iowa, Kansas, Missouri, and Nebraska to attend USTRC team ropings.  It is a ton of fun!  My husband and I also play volleyball on Sunday nights, my son plays T-ball on Wednesdays, I play basketball on Wednesdays, and my husband plays basketball on Thursdays!  We like to stay active (or chaotic)!!

I am looking forward to getting to know you all and meeting you at ACE this year!

Daysha

Daysha, it's great to find a little more information out about you. How long have you been roping, that sounds like so much fun!
I started roping when I was 9, but quit around my freshman year of high school to play high school sports.  I got back into it just a couple years ago.  It has been quite a journey, I will say!  But very rewarding!

Daysha, that's so interesting about the roping! Thanks for telling us about yourself. I know we've met virtually when I assisted with NPA while Kelly was on maternity leave, but I'm so excited to meet you in person at ACE!

Thanks for posting also, Matt, and getting the conversation going. I can't wait to hear from others!

A little about me...I'm Kristin Wall, senior communications coordinator for AHDI. I work remotely from my home in Fleming Island, FL. I've been an MT since 1998 and really loved it. I transitioned to working for AHDI full-time about 5 years ago. I've been married to my wonderful husband, Harrison, for 20 years, and we have an 18-year-old son, Keanu, who just graduated from high school and will be starting college soon (too soon for my liking!). I'm a certified workaholic, but I love to read and get out of the house to socialize when the opportunity arises. I enjoy traveling but don't have as much time for it anymore. My husband was in the Navy and we've lived in several states, originally being from Nebraska.

Kristin-

Whereabouts in NE are you guys from?  We are in the northwest corner of Missouri, about 20 minutes from Rulo, or about an hour and a half from Omaha.

I am excited to meet you as well!!  It will be nice to put faces with names come August!

We are from Lincoln. I have a good friend who lives in Omaha and that's generally where we fly in to as it is less expensive. I've been through Missouri many times!

Hi Daysha!

I look forward to meeting you at ACE in Phoenix.  This will be my 5th time at ACE.  I've attended each year since I entered this profession. I know you're going to have a wonderful time at the convention. See you soon!

Kathy Muelker, CMT
Capital Chapter of AHDI - Austin, TX

Hi all -

This is my first time attending ACE. For some silly reason, I didn't go when it was an hour away from me!! I'm currently a student at Career Step, and hope to be done with the course by the time ACE starts. I do have a couple of questions about how to pick which seminars to go to, and that sort of thing. I did sign up for the special CQE class, where I'll get the new prep books!

Kathy, I'll see you in a couple weeks!

Jenn

I'm glad to see so many new members participating this year!
