AHDI Annual Convention & Exposition (ACE)
Allied
Medical School supports the complete educational needs of
today’s medical transcriptionists. In addition to the Allied’s AHDI-approved medical transcription training
program, Allied has developed convenient online courses
approved for continuing education credit (CECs) in the areas of
Anatomy & Physiology, Electronic Health Records, and
Pharmacology. With these courses, MTs can effectively take steps to
keep their transcription career on track and enhance their medical
knowledge base. Innovative and interactive, these CECs provide a
hands-on learning style that fits the needs of today’s tech-savvy
MTs.
Allied’s one-of-a-kind Anatomy & Physiology course strives to effectively connect the structure with the function of the body. The course delves into the body’s major systems and utilizes a detailed audio/visual approach to enhance the learning process. It provides MTs with a solid science background with in-depth lessons that include case studies, audio chapter summaries, leading health problems, latest clinical and athletic bogy image technologies, and more.
As the role of the MT evolves, introduction to additional skill sets will be helpful to the current practicing transcriptionist. Allied’s Electronic Health Records course prepares students to adapt to an evolving industry with hands-on experience that demonstrates commonly used software applications. By using a “live” version of Practice Partner EHR software, MTs have the opportunity to perform a variety of common functions such as accessing and abstracting patient data from the electronic health record.
Allied’s upcoming Pharmacology course is designed to provide current information in the ever-changing area of pharmacology. This unique 30-hour course presents basic pharmacology principles in addition to monographs on the common drugs and prescriptions. Clinical implications and contraindications are reviewed for each body system with emphasis on safety in transcription of pharmacological terms.
For students looking to launch a new MT career, Allied Medical School provides aspiring MTs with a college-level, online medical transcription education that is AHDI approved. The program is designed to include convenient modules that enable students to complete their education one step at a time, with courses that build on the previous knowledge and complexity. As students progress through each module, they have access to personalized assistance - from getting a solid foundation of knowledge to completing transcriptions with real QA feedback. Upon program completion, students will be prepared for the Registered Medical Transcriptionist (RMT) exam.
Allied’s online courses are an ideal way to meet both CE requirements or begin studies with a solid medical transcription education program. The online learning environment encourages flexibility and convenience while providing a curriculum that supports career development and advancement. Armed with an education developed by today’s industry professionals, students will have the tools to take the next step – and Allied will accompany them every step of the way.
