Day 2 of AHDI Annual Convention & Expo

A full day here in Austin at ACE 2010. Lots of good breakout sessions and a busy exhibit hall. The highlight of the day for me was the "Great ACE Tweet Up" hosted by Lea Sims and Lynn Kosegi, with a little help from yours truly. This was an interactive session on the topic of using social media tools to engage medical transcriptionists. This first-of-its-kind (for AHDI, at least) event featured live presenters speaking to a live audience, live-blogging via Twitter and remote users participating via TweetChat. It was a significant step forward for AHDI in recognizing the importance of using social media to engage a geographically distributed and age-diverse work force on the brink of tumultuous change in our industry. A big shout-out to Coleen Fisher from AHDI for her hard work behind the scenes to make this event a reality, and thanks to Lindsey, Misty and Emma from M*Modal for their contributions as well.

Tomorrow will be another big day for innovation and engagement for AHDI, as we'll be streaming live video of the Industry Update and Annual Business Meeting beginning at 8 a.m. CDT here on ace365.org.
